LONG COVID REHABILITATION

Long Covid Rehabilitation

Most of us by now have probably had Covid, and while it's effects for many people who have contracted it are typically short lived, for others they can develop symptoms that can be long lasting and debilitating, which can also present in a continuous format or in clusters following a remission and relapse cycle.

Symptoms

Do you experience tightness in your chest now when you did not prior to having Covid?
Are you feeling lethargic still weeks after having Covid?
Have your fitness levels still not returned to what they were previous to having Covid?
Are you finding that you have increased levels of anxiety that are outside your normal behaviour?
Have you found that your ability to focus and remember has been affected since having Covid?

Long lasting symptoms can include:-
Extreme fatigue, headaches, breathlessness, chest pain, trouble with sleeping, cognitive dysfunction, muscle & joint pain and difficulties with balance. These effects can lead to difficulty in breathing easily, to completing tasks like climbing the stairs and other activities of every day life.
For some, Long Covid can also increase the risk of heart attack, stroke and organ failure.

Recovery

Recovering from long Covid can sometimes be a lengthy process, the condition effects every person differently,  and whilst rest is crucial, too much will slow down recovery and can lead to loss of muscle mass, which increases risk of injuries.
Studies have shown us that physical activity is an important part of the recovery process. Movement plays such a vital role in healing the body and is a way to also restore the mind and soothe emotions.

As a certified Long Covid Rehabilitation Specialist and an iMove Freely Instructor, I am qualified and experienced in supporting and helping clients with this condition.
I offer one to one sessions centred on activities that will help with better breathing mechanics, strengthening the heart and lungs ( cardiopulmonary ), muscles & joints ( musculoskeletal ), balance and coordination ( neuro-vestibular ) and improve cognitive function.
All designed to get you breathing, moving and feeling better.
